As a young child ..I remember when I sat looking over my neighbour's fence at her ponies //Sparky and Imp ..wanting from that moment a pony all of my own .Of course my Father a smart man told me I had to learn properly and show commitment ,not just want it ..ponies are indeed very expensive and we were not made of money .So why not let your little dreamer learn how I did the affordable way ..by learning with a cuddly large pony how to groom and build a bond with other's and also how to look after all that leather tack which is also expensive ..never mind all that mucking out of the stables and of course how to design your own stableyard even if it is with placemats ,watch horse shows and make a book of pony names ..and then of course get a hobby horse and ride around the woods ..all of which will be cheaper than the real thing ...Then it is how to dress properly like that cowgirl and learn how to be in a correct position when riding all of which disciplines differ ...so as you can see a good deal of horse sense again a retro game I can bring along with these ponies will enable such a great deal of knowledge and keep them learning ..before they get the real thing ...
Then as we get older we need to know HOW to afford such a lovely acquisition because money does not grow on trees as I often heard ..so what skills can we do to earn that money or offset the cost of stable rents and all the food /bedding/insurance /vet bills /farrier /never mind competition costs ..
Well the list goes on but its that bond you make that is unbreakable they are IN YOUR BLOOD ...
and so the story continues because from that moment they decided to fall in love with a pony ..well they will never truly stop believe me ..I am now 46 and I can say I first saw them when I was 7 that is all a romance story of its own ..not quite the romance we often read but it is a real love for an animal who will through good or bad times give you a reason to continue and when life gets tough which it often can then I can say that as a parent or friend you will realise just how priceless that gift will be in the end ,even when you can no longer always be there to protect them from harm..
